RPH celebrates opening of new physical therapy building

LaPlace, La. (November 4, 2009) - River Parishes Hospital recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of its new Physical Therapy Building, which is located at 506 Rue de Santé in LaPlace. St. John Parish officials as well as River Parishes Hospital Board of Trustees, physicians and staff were on-hand for the ribbon cutting.
River Parishes Hospital now provides outpatient physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy services at this location. This new building offers 3,800 feet of treatment area compared to 1,200 feet in their former space. The building has multiple private treatment rooms and two gyms. Treatment is provided for individuals to maximize their quality of life. River Parishes Physical Therapy is also certified in treatment of the injured worker by Occucare Systems and Solutions and provides fit-for-duty testing, functional capacity evaluations and work-hardening services.
The new building has a waiting area that can accommodate over 20 patients and is wheelchair accessible. In addition, the facility has its own parking lot and a second covered entrance that can be used for drop off on rainy days.
"Over the past few years, our physical therapy patient base has grown tremendously which has lead to the need for a larger space" said Charlotte Dupré, River Parishes Hospital Chief Executive Officer. "This new location will allow us to accommodate the growing needs of our community."
